Position Overview
The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s finances, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a growing business environment, understands construction or contracting finances, and can balance big-picture strategy with hands-on financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the company’s financial planning, including annual budgets and cash flow forecasts.
- Oversee accounting functions, including AP/AR, payroll, and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership.
- Monitor project profitability and job costing to ensure healthy margins.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, licensing, and insurance requirements.
- Coordinate with external accountants, banks, and financial partners as needed.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support company growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).
- 3+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in construction or contracting.
- Strong understanding of job costing, project profitability, and cash flow management.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
- Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate financial insights clearly to leadership and team members.
